Lessons Learned
While I have been privileged to ride across Canada as a member of the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride in 2008 and 2009, I have decided that this year I would make the journey from Tofino, BC to St John’s, NL, as a solo rider. As a rider with Coast to Coast against Cancer Foundation I will challenge myself and others to achieve new goals and make our rides meaningful.
Both of my previous rides have been very rewarding and I am sure I will have many new challenges and experiences along the way. I have learned many lessons over the years of cycling that I can rely on to get me through each day and situation. Many wonderful memories that I will rely on to make this ride a rewarding experience.
I will do a blog each day of my journey, providing I have cell coverage, and keep everyone posted as to how everything is working out. Riding 250 km most days will be the first challenge, but with lots of training and wise council from friends, I feel my plan will not let me down.
One of the lessons I learned is that the battle against childhood cancer can only be won by our continuing efforts to raise funds and awareness. In an effort to reach our goal, “Destination: beyond cancer”, high schools in the Cornwall area have participated in the Inside Ride, an amazing event which has many students participate in fundraising and team building. My blog will introduce you to the schools that participated this year, some for the third time.

Your support is more than appreciated; every cent is put to work helping kids.
Thanks,
