25 years from diagnosis, 2500 km to ride, 25000 (lets make that 50k) dollars to raise, This will be my 2010!
The year 2010 will represent 25 years from the time I was diagnosed with CML. A form of leukemia not often found in 17 year old boys. From the innocence of youth I was transformed into a cancer patient with all the adult worries to go along with it. Giving up was not a choice and with the help of a loving family, incredible parents and the most supportive of friends, I was able to survive an unrelated bone marrow transplant in 1992.
Today I am cancer free! Married to a beautiful woman for 12 years and the father of 10 year old twin boys. In other words I live a blessed life for which I am truly grateful.
So in honor of the kids that are going through what will obviously be their toughest road of their short lives, I along with 40 or so others have committed to ride across our great country (my portion will be aprox 2500km) in the hope of raising 2-3 million dollars and of equal importance raising awareness and the hope of these young souls and their families.
I am at your service and I humbly ask you for your support both morally, spiritually and if able financially.
