As a 2009 National Rider I learned about the many challenges some of our children face in the fight against Childhood cancer everyday of their lives.
I also learned that we can make a difference each one of us by riding, volunteering, fundraising, or simply just sharing with others why we ride.
This is year 3 for the SNKCR so the fight continues to help children and their families beat this disease. It's effects are devastating not only on their physical, but also on their mental, emotional and financial well being.
I completed my journey last year with a great feeling of personal accomplishment and respect for my fellow riders and amazing volunteers. The volunteers had the tough job, sleeping less and constantly looking out for our wellbeing and safety we could never have completed the journey without them.
As a volunteer this year I have big shoes to fill following the example set by the team that supported me last year and I welcome the challenge to make year 3 a huge success.
