My biggest physical accomplishment(s) to date: 2008 Sears National Kids Cancer Ride

My sister Debbie passed away in 2005 from leukemia. I wanted something positive to come out of her death, and low and behold Louisa falls into my life through our mutual coach Jane Armstrong. Through Jane, I found out about Tour for Kids, which put me in contact with Louisa, I haven't really looked back :) My first T4K was 2005; 2009 will be my fifth year. So, in 2006 Louisa told me about her dream for the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride (SNKCR), and I told her right then and there to sign me up! To make a long story short, I was privileged to be accepted as a rider for the first ever SNKCR. Through the training and fundraising experience preparing for the 2008 ride, it came to me that I have finally figured out why I was put on this earth... to help sick kids, and get to the destination: beyond cancer.

After I finished the ride in Halifax last year, I knew in my heart that I wanted to do this ride again. However, the training, fundraising was too much for my family to handle two years on a row, so I asked to be a volunteer; and once again, I am privileged to be on the ride, this year as a volunteer.

This year is a full circle for me. As a rider last year, and a crew member this year, giving back to the ride, and helping out the new riders brings me full circle. I hope to make this ride as positive to my 'team' as it was for me last year.

Please help me continue our destination: beyond cancer by making a generous donation.
