Sears National Kids Cancer Ride

Day 8 – Winnipeg to Falcon Lake

  • Friends and family wrote little notes for Erin Rooney to open every morning.
  • Bacon and Pancakes (aka Fiona and Scott) doing a bicycle dance as the riders leave the Sears Winnipeg parking lot
  • After the hairy ride into Winnipeg, a police escort out of the city was so very appreciated
  • Highlight of the day was Frank Molinari busting out the air guitar and dancing at the Co-op Gas Station in Ste. Anne.  Then Tracy Rossetti joined him.
  • The ladies in Hadashville who work at / own the Motel were excited by and loved the plaque and will for sure love the photo we send to them.
  • Tough morning for riding due to road conditions but the afternoon was glorious weather-wise and the riders really enjoyed the last stretch.
  • Some of the riders went for a dip in the lake instead or before their shower!
  • In Falcon Lake, the employee at the golf course with the “eagles” shirt spoke to us briefly about her sister who had cancer, diagnosed last year but is in remission.
  • Today’s dedication was for Hugh
  • Danny was the superhero of the day
