Marsh employees across Canada will have the unique opportunity once again to participate in the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride, one of the biggest and most ambitious charity cycling events, on behalf of childhood cancer, in the world. Last year, over 1 million dollars was raised and given directly to childhood cancer charities and pediatric oncology programs and centers across Canada. Marsh Canada Limited along with other MMC companies in Canada helped reach that goal through corporate and colleague support.
On June 13, 2009, 36 National riders, including one of our own Marsh colleagues, Jason Hutchings, will start a 12-day, 7,000 km trans-Canada cycling adventure from Vancouver to Halifax. During this time, Marsh colleagues will have the opportunity not only to show their support for Jason but also to participate. Colleagues can join their local community rides, which are designed for all fitness levels, become a sponsor, or volunteer to support the riders at local community events.
Marsh Canada's goal for 2009 is to raise $35,000 and double our participation from last year. Marsh will once again be holding a competition between offices across Canada. To encourage all colleagues to participate, all individual donations of $25 or more will automatically qualify you for a prize raffle draw and a chance to win one of three gift certificates to the store of your choice. The team from the Marsh office that raises the most money (on average per rider) will each win a $50 gift certificate at Best Buy. The Marsh cyclist, who raises the most money across Canada, will win a brand new Dorel "Coast to Coast Bike" (or equivalent).
Further details regarding Marsh participation and contest rules for all prizes will be on Inside Marsh, over the next few weeks.
